CJ's Unique Boutique - CJ's BUTTer and more! Review & Giveaway

CJ's Unique Boutique, home of CJ's BUTTer, The Travel Trench and much more in body products is one of my FABULOUS sponsors for my Mother's Day Giveaway hop!

First, a little bit about CJ's BUTTer...

CJ (the creator and namesake of the BUTTer) out of sheer determination to find a cloth safe diaper cream created BUTTer in her kitchen! This product boasts more than 20 uses, and I hope to find them all! I think I did find a new one, which was to smear it on a gash on our horse. It sealed it up from the elements and insects, and I think it worked great! So, there ya go--veterinary uses too!

Here is a picture of some of what was included in my sampler package from CJ's!!

Here is a list of recommended and known uses for "The Original CJ's BUTTer"
Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea
Dry, Chapped Skin & wind burn
Mechanic's hands, Hang nails, cuticles
Dry, Cracked Feet & Alligator Elbows
Bug Bites, Scars, Cold sores
Hair Conditioning Treatments, Cradle Cap
Sunburn pain & peeling skin
Allergy rash & itchiness
 Incontinence Protection & Hemorrhoids
circumcision care & severe diaper rash
itchy pregnancy tummies & stretch marks

These are the BUTTer Scents I Got to Try: (there are dozens available! *Unless formulated for a specific purpose, like Bug BANISHer or BUTTer Plus*)

CJ's BUTTer Plus -this awesome butter has super powers--well maybe not quite super powers, but it works on fungal issues! So, thankfully we haven't had athlete's foot or yeast rashes recently in this household, but when we do--this will be the stuff we grab for the job!

Caribbean Therapy -This BUTTer scent is like spiced rum meets sandy beach breeze to me! The reason it is not pictured is because my mama swiped it since she liked it so much, right after I received the package! So, there you have it, another happy user!

Original - We use the original balm on the Bug's bum, too. We've used it for diaper rash, eczema, dry feet & hands, softening the skin that is healing because of small cuts & scrapes,

Sea Spice - This scent is really robust, and it is a little spicy, but not like jalapeno, more like a musky, man smell. It's delicious! There are musky tones to it but also something a tiny bit like roses as a very subtle undertone.

Monkey Farts - This is the scent that one lucky winner of the Mother's Day Giveaway will walk away with (well, you'll get it in the mail!) But, it's pretty awesome stuff! As I said before, it can be used as a diaper balm that is safe for cloth! This scent is super yummy! It is also so funny, because for obvious reasons, I think of a Chimpanzee gorging himself on bunch after bunch of bananas, and then with a big bulging banana belly, rolling out of his Banana tree and letting out a banana fart as he lands. :) It is fully of banana-y goodness. Use it for a diaper balm on your little monkey, or use it for many other things!

Lavender Bergamot Coriander - Yummy! This is like soaking in Earl Grey tea! My favorite! It combines the strong suggestion of Bergamot with Lavender and has some citrus-y undertones. This is a relaxing scent and I've been rubbing a dab of it into my temples in the afternoon during naptime, for ultra-relaxation!

Mango, Sugar, & Mint [Vegan Formula] - This scent, in the vegan formula, so no coconut ingredients, smelled like something decadent from a candy shop along a boardwalk! It reminds me of saltwater taffy or something yummy like that!

Green Irish Tweed - This is the ultimate in sexy man smell! It's like a strapping Irish guy sprinted through the house and in his wake musky, masculine vibes and me lusting after it! I gave this one to hubby to use on his uber-chapped hands, and not only are they softer now, they smell AMAZING!

Vegan Formula - This BUTTer is made with only shea butter, cocoa butter and sesame oil. So, there is no coconut oil in this version. I guess a lot of folks have allergies to it, so this is perfect for those of you following a strict diet for allergy or moral reasons!

Unscented - This one is pretty self-explanatory and it DOES smell like nothing! This BUTTer has been well-used on the Little Bug's bum! It works great and I can rest easy knowing his bum is being taken care of in a way that is safe for our beloved cloth diapers!

YOU too can experience all the scents and formulas of CJ's!! They sell sampler packs of eight 1/2 ounce jars -- so you can try them all before committing to a 4 oz. tube of a particular scent! But trust me, you'll LOVE them all!

Wool Wash & Wool Rejuvenator -Well, if you've been keeping up with our adventures, then you know we've been getting into wool! For my wash routine on woolies, I rinse the wool in cool water. I squirt a little Wool Wash on the "wet-zone" (the area that gets the most use and ammonia build-up) then run it in a little. I then swish my woolie around in warm water to rinse. I let it sit for 1/2 hr or 45 minutes. Then I just squeeze out all of the excess and hang up my woolies on my drying rack, clean, smelling like New Mown Hay (yum!) and ready to wear again! Then, once my wool is dry, I spray the Wool Rejuvenator on it--this lanolizes between washes. I sometimes use a squirt here and there on the "wet-zone" in between washes too!

Aroma Spray - I picked out Love Spell and I am smitten! This scent makes me feeling energized and crisp, clean, and summery! My husband says it smells like "ummm....something really good?!" I found that hysterical, but he tried, right? I think that it is a great scent for spring/summer. It's refreshing and not over-powering like "grandma perfume." Very tasteful and classy but a bit of adventure and flirty fun mixed in. I'd wear this scent grocery shopping or on a 'date night.'

Carcass Cleanser - We have been using this in the shower since receiving it. It gets hubby squeaky clean, even when he's barely visible through the dirt from planting trees! At first, the aroma of the Lavender-Tea Tree scent was super strong and almost reminded me of saddle soap--but when I was drying off, the residual smell of the Carcass Cleanser is amazing! Subtle hints of lavender with notes of Tea Tree. Very earthy-smelling and I love it! Here is a picture of the carcass cleaner. It comes in an easy-to-use pump, so you don't have to mess with caps in the shower. Just as natural laundry detergent does not produce superficial synthetic-based bubbles, this natural cleanser does not have a lathering agent, thus does not foam-up when used. Worry not, it is still cleaning!

Lip Balm - Raspberry Lemonade, Peachy Mangolicious- These two flavors were really summer-y! They left my lips feeling refreshed and light (not slimy, oily, or waxy) with little residual material left on after application. It doesn't feel like I dipped my lips in wax! It also doesn't feel like an oily mess. It's the perfect amount of moisture, my lips are loving it! Even though these 2 flavors smell good enough to eat, and they are all natural so that you could probably eat it without too much trouble, I wouldn't recommend it. This lip balm even has an SPF of 15!! You can't get any better than yummy smelling, good feeling and

Creamy Lotion - Coconut Lime Dream scented and oh-so smooth when it goes on (not greasy) and it actually does make my skin replenished! I've been using it on my elbows, and have noticed that they are no longer scaly! The lime scent is the most assertive, but there is a bit of vanilla or another sweeter smelling aroma that runs through it too! It reminds me of something you might smell as you eat a frozen treat on a stick! Like the Orange Dreamsicles, but Lime! Mmmm!

Bug-BANISHer - The bugs in the Midwest are brutal! And, CJ's has a solution for that too! CJ's Bug Banisher is a citronella formula that also contains pepperment oil, vinegar, Witch Hazel, and a few more natural ingredients that ward off insects and ticks. We only have a few mosquitos here right now (early spring, gotta love it!) but so far, CJ's Bug Banisher has kept my casualty count to ONE bug bite!! That's pretty darn good for as much time as we spend outside and for how thick the bugs CAN and DO get in our country yard! It feels good not to have to sacrifice much defense from bugs for health! I do not like to use products with DEET, as great as it works for bugs, it also melts plastic on contact--ish! I cannot put something so toxic on my skin or the skin of anyone in my family, but since we have fair skin, our bug bite reactions are sometimes severe too! It usually seems like there is no winning! You do have to apply this regularly to clothes and skin for it to be effective, but at least it provides some reprieve! You can even spray it in the air around you, to help stave off the bugs in your backyard, on the patio, or at your campsite!

Make sure you enter to WIN some Monkey Farts on my giveaway page. But, if after you try to win you don't, or if you simply cannot wait to try some CJ's formula products, you can BUY them online!

  5. CJs BUTTer is the only thing that has ever cleared up rashes for us (although we have only had a few). It also really helped my husband when he got into some poison oak recently! I really want to give the bug-banisher a try.
